Publicity

As Knights, we should take pride in who we are, what we stand for and what we do. We are members of the largest Catholic family fraternal service organization in the world. As an Order we gave over $161 million and over 69 million hours of volunteer hours to charity last year alone. But we must get the word out! People in our own parishes and communities don’t know who we are or what we do. Publicize information before an event to get more participation. Publicize information after an event to tell what happened and make others want to come next time.

Each council is encouraged to appoint a Public Relations Chairman. This member is responsible for publicizing activities and good news. Here is a list of ways we can publicize what we are doing. Please let me know of any other unique ways your council may use to “get the word out.”

- Columbia Magazine Send to Columbia, 1 Columbus Plaza, New Haven, CT 06510-3326 or .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
- Diocesan Newspaper
- Local Newspaper
- Radio Stations
- Parish Bulletin
- Council Newsletter

Please send me a copy of all articles that are published so I can monitor our publicity. Keep your articles concise and to the point, and make sure the article answers these five questions: Who, What, When, Where, Why.

Be proud of the activities you do and let others know the great works of the Knights of Columbus.
